Can I dock an exempt employee’s pay?
An exempt employee must be paid his full salary every week in which he works with the following exceptions:

- The first week he works if it is not a complete week
- The last week he works if it is not a complete week
- Any week in which he takes FMLA time
- If not made whole by vacation or sick time
- A week in which he takes an entire work day off
- That was not covered by vacation, personal or PTO time
- A week in which he takes a full sick day and he either
- Was not eligible for sick/PTO time under your company’s policy
- Had exceeded sick/PTO time under your company’s policy
- A week in which he was suspended for a major safety violation
